California agrees to deploy National Guard to the border

    California agrees with DHS/DOD to deploy 400 National Guard troops to the border; California states that the service members will perform support missions targeting "criminal gangs" and "human traffickers" and will "not enforce immigration laws, arrest people for violation of immigration laws, guard individuals taken into custody for immigration-related violations, nor support the enforcement of immigration laws."
