March 10, 20252025.03.10 CBP launches enhanced CBP Home mobile app with new Report Departure feature
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) launched a new "CBP Home" mobile app, which includes an "Intent to Depart" feature.
"Intent to Depart" is meant to facilitate self-deportation by providing a way for unlawfully present noncitizens and people whose parole has been revoked to notify the Government of their intent to leave the United States. CBP claims that "[t]his new feature is a necessary tool to comply with the President’s Executive Order 14159, Protecting the American People Against Invasion."
Other features of the "CBP Home" app include:
- A way to apply and pay for an I-94 up to seven days before arriving in the United States
- A function to request inspections for perishable cargo entering the United States
- A feature to check wait times at the border
- A manifest submission feature for bus operators

NPR reports some immigrants who came to the U.S. through a Biden-era parole process using the CBP One app began receiving emails saying their parole was terminated "immediately." The email said they would lose work authorization and face criminal prosecution, fines, and removal if they did not leave, but excepted those who "otherwise obtained a lawful basis to remain here."

August 11, 20252025.08.11 Complaint - Sileiri Doe v. U.S. Department of Homeland Security
The Venezuelan Association of Massachusetts and individual plaintiffs filed a lawsuit challenging the termination of parole status for immigrants who entered the U.S. using the CBP One app. The complaint alleges that 8 U.S.C. § 1182(d)(5)(A) requires parole terminations on a "case-by-case basis," making "en masse" terminations contrary to law; that the terminations were arbitrary and capricious under the Administrative Procedure Act (APA); and that they violated DHS regulations requiring case-by-case terminations with written notice by an authorized DHS official. Doe v. U.S. DHS, No. 1:25-cv-12245 (D. Mass.).
