DOJ issues interim final rule on the issuance of guidance documents and their use in litigation

    DOJ issues an interim final rule "providing specific processes and procedures governing the review, clearance, and issuance of guidance documents, along with procedures to petition for the withdrawal or modification of a guidance document consistent with Executive Order 13891." The rule also "codifies existing Department policies limiting the use of guidance documents in criminal and civil enforcement actions initiated by the Department."
