How the Justice Department is remaking itself in Trump’s image
Attorney General Pam Bondi has reportedly rapidly transformed DOJ into another arm of Trump's political agenda and has abandoned traditional DOJ norms of independence and impartiality, according to The Washington Post. She has pushed out career officials and prosecutors, backed off anti-corruption efforts, and prioritized helping Trump allies while targeting his critics. Resources have been redirected toward immigration crackdowns and conservative culture-war issues. A wave of resignations within DOJ ensued amidst growing concern that longstanding norms have been replaced by loyalty tests and retaliation.
