    Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, responding to social media commentary on the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk the day before, announced in a post on X that "foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country." The post states that Landau has directed consular officers to take "appropriate action" regarding noncitizens who make comments "praising, rationalizing, or making light of" the shooting. The post also encourages the public to bring such comments by noncitizens to the attention of the DOS.
