Original Date Announced
May 20, 2025DOS issued a notice and request for comments relating to proposed revisions to Form DS-7794, "Electronic Medical Examination for Visa Applicant" (eMedical). DS-7794 is used to report the medical information necessary to determine whether a noncitizen seeking entry to the United States has a medical condition affecting their eligibility for a visa or immigration benefit.
Among other changes, DOS is proposing expanding the scope of the collection to allow eMedical processing for all noncitizens subject to a medical examination under the INA, including not only immigrant visa applicants but also certain nonimmigrant, follow-to-join refugee, diversity visa, asylum, parole, and K-visa applicants. Accordingly, DOS is also proposing updating the collection title to “Electronic Medical Examination for Visa or Immigration Benefit” to reflect the collection’s expanded scope.
Comments will be accepted for 60 days.
