  1. Original Date Announced

    January 20, 2025

Section 3 of the Presidential EO 14161 "Protecting the United States from Foreign Terrorists and Other National Security and Public Safety Threats" directs DOS, DHS, and the Director of National Intelligence to recommend actions against those who call for the “overthrow or replacement of [American] culture,” or seek to “undermine” free speech or religion, provide advocacy or support for foreign terrorists, preach or call for sectarian violence, or otherwise seek to undermine Constitutional rights.

The agencies also must review all existing policies to prevent admission of refugees or stateless persons without “stringent identification verification beyond that required of any other alien seeking admission or entry."

It further orders the agencies to "ensure the devotion of adequate resources to identify and take appropriate action for offenses described in 8 USC 1451 [Revocation of Naturalization]," and to "evaluate the adequacy of programs designed to ensure the proper assimilation of lawful immigrants to the United States."
