January 20, 2025Executive Order #14164 requires the Attorney General to pursue federal jurisdiction and "seek the death penalty regardless of other factors" for capital crimes committed by noncitizens illegally present in the US. The Attorney General shall also encourage State attorneys general and district attorneys to bring State capital charges against noncitizens illegally present in the United States, regardless of whether the federal trial results in a capital sentence.
