October 15, 2018EOIR revises its procedures for handling complaints against IJs, Board Members, and ALJs, moving complaint management from its court components -- OCIJ, BIA, and OCAHO -- to a "Judicial Conduct and Professionalism Unit" (JCPU) under the control of the Director's Office. Under the new process, the JCPU decides what constitutes a complaint and what merits attention. The new process also includes a mechanism for IJs to complain about Board Members.
