February 23, 2026President Trump issued Proclamation 11013, designating February 22, 2026 as "National Angel Family Day" to "remember and honor the thousands of American lives stolen from us by criminal illegal aliens and the deadly drugs they bring across our borders." The date marks the second anniversary of the murder of Laken Riley by a Venezuelan national who was unlawfully present in the United States.
The Proclamation also calls on Congress to pass Kate's Law, which would impose mandatory minimum criminal sentences on noncitizens who re-enter the United States after being removed or denied entry, with increased sentences for those who have been convicted of certain crimes.
