The Washington Post reports that the Department of Homeland Security signed a nearly $140 million contract to purchase six Boeing 737 planes to use for deportations. The contract will enable DHS to operate its own fleet, rather than relying on planes chartered from other airlines. The funding for the planes is coming from Congress's $170 billion appropriation for immigration enforcement operations as part of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).
