January 20, 2025Reported: Department of Justice officials terminated the employment of 4 top career civil service officers within the DOJ Executive Officer of Immigration Review (EOIR): Mary Cheng, EOIR acting director; Sheila McNulty, chief immigration judge; Lauren Alder Reid, EOIR head of policy; and Jill Anderson, EOIR general counsel.
The firings took place right after the Acting Attorney General was named. The Acting AG was the Director of the agency during the first Trump term.
