Reported: DOJ offers financial incentives to pre-Trump BIA judges to retire or resign

    CQ Roll Call reports that on April 17, 2020, EOIR director James McHenry issued an internal memo offering financial incentives to longtime BIA members if they retire or resign. The memo reportedly offered “voluntary separation incentive payments” to “individuals whose positions will help us strategically restructure EOIR in order to accommodate skills, technology, and labor markets.” The offer was made specifically to the Board Members who predate the Trump Administration.
