The New York Times reports that Dominica has agreed to start receiving foreign nationals who seek asylum in the United States. Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit of Dominica stated that his country had signed “an agreement to facilitate third-country refugees to be sent to Dominica," but did not detail how many asylum seekers the country will accept or how it plans to house them.

The agreement comes after Presidential Proclamation 10998 announced a partial ban on entry for citizens of Dominica, among other countries, effective January 1, 2026.
