  • 2025.03.05 - Nashville Banner: ICE Enforcement Up Almost 400 Percent in Davidson County During First Month of Trump Administration

The Nashville Banner reports that immigration enforcement activity at Nashville jails has surged. According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, "ICE agents picked up nearly four times as many people from Nashville jails as they did in the same month last year under the Biden administration." ICE has started filing detainer requests for essentially every offense.

Reportedly, a newly pregnant single mother was arrested and spent a week in jail after the police responded to a domestic dispute. However, there has been no public rescission of ICE's 2021 directive 11032.4, "Identification and Monitoring of Pregnant, Postpartum, or Nursing Individuals."
