June 17, 2025The New York Times reports that the State Department has revoked the travel visas of former Panamanian President Martín Torrijos and former presidential candidate Ricardo Lombana. The politicians stated that the move was "direct retaliation for speaking out against recent deals their country made with President Trump" to accept non-Panamanian migrants deported from the U.S. and allow more U.S. troops in Panama. The State Department declined to explain why the travel visas were revoked.
