Reports that USCIS plans to establish internal office to police and reprimand employees

  1. Original Date Announced

    March 16, 2018

USCIS has reportedly created an Organization of Professional Responsibility subdivision to police and reprimand lenient caseworkers. A USCIS official with knowledge of the plans said it has been viewed internally as a crackdown on employees who may be too forgiving toward applicants for LPR or citizenship and who may have demerits in their case files, including misdemeanor criminal charges or having received public assistance. USCIS denies this. [ID #616]
