USCIS begins accepting green card applications under Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness program

    USCIS announces that it will begin accepting applications from certain Liberian nationals to adjust status to that of lawful permanent resident under Section 7611 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020, Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness (LRIF), signed into law on Dec. 20, 2019.       USCIS announces that the deadline to file for adjustment of status has been extended from one year to two, pursuant to the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, Sec. 901., Extension of Period for Adjustment of Status for Certain Liberian Nationals. The new deadline is December 20, 2021.
