    2023.06.29 E-Verify NextGen Proposal

USCIS has issued a 60-day period of request for comments on a new, web-based E-Verify program. This program would allow employees to create an account and resolve TNC issues in advance and directly with the government, rather than through their employer. The NextGen proposal would remove the employer's primary role in the mismatch resolution process, instead notifying employees of the mismatch directly and providing instructions to resolve the issue. The goal is to shift the burden of TNC issue resolution away from employers and give employees the opportunity to resolve issues before the issue results in job termination.
