    USCIS releases an updated "Handbook for Employers: Guidance for Completing Form I-9" (M-274) to include both new guidance and clarification on existing policy guidance for employers completing I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification Forms. [ID #595]

    6.9 Other Temporary Workers

    USCIS published new Form I-9 guidance in Section 6.9, Other Temporary Workers, of the M-274, Handbook for Employers. The guidance indicates that employees whose E and L nonimmigrant status derives from being the spouse of an E or L nonimmigrant can show Form I-94 as proof of employment authorization. A separate employment authorization document (EAD) is no longer required.
