USCIS proposes revisions to Form G-28 to disallow paralegal designation

  1. Original Date Announced

    July 25, 2025

USCIS issued a notice of an information collection, proposing revisions to Form G-28 (Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Accredited Representative). The data collected via Form G-28 is used by DHS to determine eligibility of the individual to appear as a representative. The proposed revision to Form G-28 removes individuals' ability to designate a paralegal to communicate about their immigration cases. Form G-28I (Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney in Matters Outside the Geographical Confines of the United States) is also included in the notice and comment period, however, no changes are being proposed to Form G-28I.

Comments are due by September 23, 2025.
