DOS announces passport revocations due to significant child-support debt

    The Department of State (DOS) announced more coordination with the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to enforce federal law on passport denial or revocation for Americans owing more than $2,500 in court-ordered child support. Officials said the effort is intended to strengthen accountability and support American families by encouraging delinquent parents to pay outstanding child support before losing passport eligibility.
