July 9, 2025On July 9, 2025, the State Department announced in the Federal Register that it is proposing changes to Form DS-260, the Electric Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration. The agency will discontinue the paper version of the form (DS-230) effective November 1, 2025, and has opened a 60-day comment period. The updated DS-260 limits applicants' ability to provide explanatory information and cannot be amended after submission.
