ICE considers phasing out family detention at Karnes

    The press reports that ICE considers phasing out family detention at the Karnes County Residential Center in favor of housing single adults instead. Detained families at Karnes would be given notices to appear in immigration court before being released. The Karnes County Residential Center housed single adult noncitizens until 2014. Since 2014, the Karnes facility has housed non-citizen families. [ID #383]
