April 19, 2026New Yorker reporter Jonathan Blitzer shared in a series of X posts that he reviewed an internal United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) document revealing that the agency formed a "Tactical Operations Division" that includes teams called "Denaturalization," "Refugee Re-Vetting," "LPR Operations," and "Fraud Detection & National Security." Blitzer writes that the division is "tasked with finding cases where officials can rescind certain people's legal permanent residency status."
