This Biden administration policy modifies, and in essence reverses, the Trump-era policy identified in this entry.
Although employment-based and fiancé-based adjustment cases continue not to be listed among those for which an interview may be waived, a Policy Manual update adds the statement, “ if USCIS determines that an interview of an applicant in any other category not listed above is unnecessary, then USCIS may waive the interview.”
