USCIS proposes revisions to Form I-192 for T or U visa applicants

    USCIS seeks comment on proposed revisions to Form I-192, Application for Advance Permission to Enter as a Nonimmigrant. Form I-192 is utilized to apply for advance permission to temporarily enter the U.S. for individuals who are an inadmissible nonimmigrant and already have the appropriate documents; or applicants for T or U nonimmigrant status. The proposed revisions are substantive in nature, including a new question about employment history for the past five years, questions about the applicant's parents, and questions about the applicant's marital history, among other revisions.     2023.09.08 Agency Information Collection Activities; Revision of a Currently Approved Collection: Application for Advance Permission to Enter as a Nonimmigrant

    This Biden administration action proposes a modification to the changes made to Form I-192 by the Trump administration. While retaining the questions about employment and marital history, the new version of the form would eliminate the section including questions about the applicant's parents. The new form and instructions would also include significantly more guidance for T and U visa applicants.
