Department of State rescinds designation of Sudan as a state sponsor of terrorism

    The Department of State announces rescission of a determination of August 12, 1993, which designated Sudan as a state sponsor of terrorism. The recission is effective Dec. 14, 2020. Subsequently, on Dec. 15, 2020, DHS announced that the suspension of entry into the US of members or officials of the Government of Sudan is no longer necessary.
