USCIS makes available $10 millon in grants to fund organizations conducting programs for lawful permanent residents seeking to naturalize. One program would fund up to 36 organizations that offer both citizenship instructions and assistance in completing naturalization applications. Since 2009, USCIS has awarded millions of dollars through grants to immigrant-serving organizations. These organizations have provided citizenship preparation services to more than 200,000 lawful permanent residents of the United States. The funding of these grant opportunities is supported by fee funds.
