March 1, 2017USCIS releases 2017 Poverty Guidelines. The guidelines stipulate the minimum income requirements for use in completing Form I-864, Affidavit of Support. Although HHS published its annual update of the federal poverty guidelines on January 31, 2017, those guidelines were effective only for fee waiver purposes. This new release from USCIS is effective for Affidavits of Support beginning March 1, 2017, until new guidelines are relased for 2018. [ID #644]
